This is Nidhi from Pinnacle Works..
And today I will be talking to you about Sub – Surface Laser Engraving .
Well complicated term but it is”nt that complicated. Sometimes, you may have seen this product also. This is a type of an artwork , which is inside. I don’t know if you can see it inside, maybe in this one you can see it better. Here the engraving is done inside the crystal. So when you pick it , you will like. Ohh ! I can”t feel the engraving, its all inside. For example, look at this one where the chemical composition is being engraved inside. The chemical compound molecule is engraved inside the chemical beaker.
So, and sometimes people are like.. How do you do that !!..Quite honestly, this is pretty magical 20- 25 years back.
But right now, its pretty common, I remember the first time, we at Pinnacle wanted to install this machine. It was about a crore plus Rupees. And I was like Really ! Is that much ? And then we decided, Oh No ! We are not gonna do this. But of course now it has come down to few lacs. Umm…Of course that is the Indian conversion . So for those of you looking in global I think ten yaa 10 millions make up a crore.
Anyways lets get back to the video, So this is all about Sub Surface Laser Engraving, what this is really about is that The crystal, the piece of crystal is put inside a machine. Inside a laser machine and then the laser beam goes and hits the surface of the crystal but goes through the surface and then starts rupturing the surface, one dot at a time. One crystal dot at a time.. Ahh…And that’s how the artwork is created. Infact you know in this we have of course made thousands and thousands of pieces like this.
So if you have to order a piece like this and sometimes the way the artwork is made, decides the quality of the product. Sometimes if you bought this previously, you would have seen that, Ohh its not very legible, you can”t read it very well..
And in some of the designs, it must have been really clear and the difference in this, is only the density of the dots. Of course, the quality of the engraving machine also matters, but the artwork, Who has prepared the artwork, how much of depth have they tried to give in the artwork matters quite a lot..So insist if you are placing an order insist that their engraving quality is par excellence because that is what will make a difference. Gone are the days where it was a magical product. Now its quite ordinary and therefore the quality of engraving needs to be really speak well for the sub surface laser engraving.
